What is a Generator (Genset)? Backup Power Solutions for Every Need

A generator — also called a genset — converts mechanical energy from a diesel or gasoline engine into electrical power. It serves as the primary power source at construction sites without grid access, or as backup power for factories, buildings, and hospitals during outages. Namsang Chakkol is an authorized dealer and rental provider for AIRMAN generators from Japan, covering sizes from 8 kVA to 700 kVA (50 Hz).

Generators come in 3 main types: 1) Open Type — no enclosure, cost-effective for construction sites 2) Silent Type — sound-attenuated enclosure, ideal for factories and buildings requiring low noise 3) Trailer Mounted — portable on a trailer, perfect for projects requiring frequent site changes.

To size a generator correctly, total the combined load of all equipment running simultaneously, add headroom for motor starting loads, then choose a kVA rating roughly 20–25% above that figure. Also check whether your supply is single-phase (homes and light work) or three-phase (factories and industrial machinery). AIRMAN diesel generators are engineered for fuel efficiency and long continuous runtime, suiting construction, events, factory backup power, and stand-by systems for hospitals and data centers. For smaller needs, compact home standby generators are also available as an emergency backup power source.

Generator Pricing & Rental Rates

Diesel generator prices start from 30,000 THB for small 5–10 kVA units up to over a million THB for industrial 500+ kVA models. Monthly rental rates start from 8,000–15,000 THB for 10–30 kVA units. Contact Namsang Chakkol for a customized quote.
